Mahjong

Today the Pusheens played Mahjong and it took them a long time to figure the game out.

The game is played with tiles and it is very complicated. The tiles include images. There are bams, craks, dots, Dragons, flowers, jokers, soaps, and they have numbers on them 1 through 9. It’s similar to Rummikub except that you have to make a spread that matches what is listed on a card. Mahjong is a matching and strategy game. Rummikub is a math and strategy game.

There are a lot of possible spreads. You take turns picking tiles and you have to adjust your spreads as you play. If you get Mahjong that means you have one of the spreads listed on your card. It is really hard!

Coaty and Baby Blue where on a team because they needed to lift the tiles together. Slothy, Cheeks, and Starfish where also playing.

Cheeks got really close to winning, because she only needed one more tile to get mahjong her spread which was three flowers, four green Dragons, three red Dragons, and four soaps. But in the end, Coaty won.
