2020 Census

Today the Pusheens and Slothy took the 2020 Census and they were confused about what it was and why they had to take it.

They were told that the Census counts how many people there are in the country and you take the Census every ten years. Before people would come to your door to ask your questions, but now we do it online. We have evolved.

The Pusheens and Slothy logged on to the Census and got started. They went to a website called my2020census.gov and they had to enter a 12 digit code that was sent in the mail. There were a lot of questions, like who lives in your house, who owns your house, your birthday, your sex, your race, and who else lives in your house. There were three sections of questions.

They were a little frustrated that they had to answer so many questions that were not about Pusheens or Sloths. For example, they do not own houses because they are cats! And what if they didn’t want to be called male or female? Sausage was a little grumpy because they didn’t want to answer that question. And Slothy was taking forever just to put a check mark in one box.

The Pusheens and Slothy almost had a meltdown. Then they realized that they were taking the wrong Census! They were taking the Census for humans, not for wildlife.
