Pusheens in Quarantine

Janeen Rice

Yesterday the Pusheens heard that there was going to be an engineer in virtual school and they wanted to hear what she had to say. So the Pusheens disguised themselves as helpless stuffed animals and sat on the bench and listened.

The engineer was Janeen Rice, and she works on radar. Radar is a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the range, angle or velocity of objects. Radar is used everyday.

First, Janeen Rice explained how she uses radar to track planes, birds and missiles. She can track 1,000 things at the same time using a computer.

The Pusheens took notes.

Next, she talked about how robots are going to replace humans in the Army, and how radar will help them move. So the men and woman in the army can spend more time with their families.

Janeen Rice is also working on iron suits that would be impenetrable. She said that she was doing something “classified,” which means that it has to be a secret to just the people doing the work. It reminded the Pusheens of Iron Man.

The Pusheens thought if robots are in the field of battle instead of humans there would be fewer deaths and that the world would be happy.

Then it was time for questions and answers. The Pusheens had so many questions, but they knew that Janeen Rice would figure out their identity. So they listened patiently instead and were very inspired!
