Falling
Today the Pusheens looked at a science book that was sent to them by Uncle Sloth and Aunt Sloth. They were inspired to try a new science experiment about gravity.
So they looked at a page that said a rock can seem like it is as heavy as a piece of paper. The page also said take two solid things like a pencil and lip balm and drop them at the same time.
To do the experiment, the Pusheens found six different items around the house and the items were a pencil, an empty medicine container, a small bottle of lotion, a broken bracelet, a EOS lip balm, and a coin.
Since it’s raining outside, they decided to do the experiment inside the house on the stairs. So that they didn’t have to constantly run up and down the stairs — Pusheens ARE lazy after all — they invented a pulley system and put all of the items inside of it.
At last it was time for the experiment. The Pusheens dropped the medicine container and the broken bracelet at the same time and they both landed at the same time. They tried the rest of the items, and they all landed at the same time. No matter how heavy or light the items were, they landed at the same time because of gravity.
The Pusheens learned that gravity is an invisible force that keeps us down on the ground, otherwise we would all be floating around. Gravity was discovered by Sir Isaac Newton when he saw an apple falling from a tree in 1687.
When it came time to bring the items back up using the pulley system, the Pusheens couldn’t reach the pulley so they made it longer. The Pusheens now know about gravity but they need to spend more time learning about length and area!
